GE Appliances prints a noise figure for every dishwasher it sells under the GE and GE Profile names. Each product page on geappliances.com has a "Quiet Package" row in dBA, and the quick specs repeat it. On October 4, 2026, GE's US site was selling 79 GE and GE Profile dishwashers with a figure, from 39 to 60 dBA. Café, GE Appliances' design-led brand, publishes the same "Quiet Package" row on its quick specs, from 39 to 44 dBA for its full size models.
This page lists them all, quietest first, in groups that should only be compared within themselves: full size 24 inch models, panel ready models, shorter ADA compliant 24 inch models, 18 inch models, drawers, portables and the countertop model. To see how GE's figures sit against other brands, see our quietest dishwashers guide; we do not rank other brands here.
Our picks are listed above, with full specifications for each.
How GE Appliances rates noise
GE uses one label across all three brands: "Quiet Package", followed by a dBA figure. The quick specs repeat it in a "Quiet Package" row and often in a feature line such as "super-silent 39 dBA dishwasher" or "quiet 48 dBA dishwasher". For every model we checked, the page and the sheet agreed.
What GE does not print is the cycle, the distance or the test standard behind the number. The only condition we found is on the panel ready GE Profile PDT715SIYII, whose page and quick specs say "44 dBA based on results from base model PDT715SYVFS." That is honest, and it tells you the panel ready figure was not measured on the panel ready unit. Our guide to comparing decibel ratings explains why a figure without a cycle is best used to compare models from the same maker.
The label itself says little. Every current model has a "Quiet Package" row, including the GDF450 at 60 dBA, so the word "quiet" on a GE page is not a promise. Read the number.

Café, from its quick specs
Café's site, cafeappliances.com, returned an access check page to our requests on October 4, 2026, so we could not confirm Café's prices or which models it still sells. The figures below come from Café's quick specs, which GE Appliances hosts. All are 24 inch built-in models unless noted.
- 39 dBA: CDT888P2VS1 (stainless), CDT888P4VW2 (matte white) and CDT888P3VD1 (matte black), and CDP888M5VS5 in platinum glass.
- 42 dBA: CDT828P2VS1, whose quick specs call it a "super-silent 42 dBA dishwasher".
- 44 dBA: CDT858P2VS1, CDT858P4VW2 and CDT858P3VD1, and the panel ready CDT858I6ZII.
Older Café models such as the CDT875 still turn up at retailers with quick specs listing 39 dBA, but we could not confirm they are current, so we leave them out.
Panel ready models
Panel ready dishwashers take a cabinet front, so compare them with each other. The full size GE Profile PDT715SIYII and Café CDT858I6ZII both list 44 dBA, the GE Profile figure "based on results from base model PDT715SYVFS." The shorter ADA compliant GE GDT226SILII lists 51 dBA, and the 18 inch GE UDT165SIVII 47 dBA. Each sits with its own size group below.
Shorter ADA compliant 24 inch models
GE's GDT225 and GDT226 are 24 inches wide but 32 1/4 inches tall, made for a 34 inch counter. Their quick specs describe "ADA Compliant with Low-Profile Installation". All list 51 dBA: GDT225SSLSS and GDT226SSLSS ($879), GDT225SGLBB, GDT225SGLWW, GDT226SGLBB and GDT226SGLWW ($899), and the panel ready GDT226SILII ($989). They use a single speed motor and a U-Blanket wrap, with 12 place settings.
18 inch models
GE Appliances sells two 18 inch built-in models, and both list 47 dBA: the GE Profile PDT145 in stainless, black or white ($929, list $1,149) and the panel ready GE UDT165SIVII ($989, list $1,099). Our 18 inch dishwasher guide covers them alongside other brands' compact models.
Drawers, portables and the countertop model
These are different machines, so their figures sit apart. The GE Profile PDD415PYYFS double drawer lists "45 dBA Single/ 48 dBA Double", and its quick specs promise "a super quiet 45 dBA operation". Café's CDD420 double drawer lists "46 dBA Single/ 49 dBA Double" and its CDD220 single drawer "45 dBA Single". If drawers suit your kitchen, our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher decibels page lists every DishDrawer with its figure, and explains why its doubles quote only the top drawer running. The GE portables on wheels list 52 dBA for the 18 inch GPT145SSLSS and 54 dBA for the 24 inch GPT225, $879 each. The GE Profile PZF560HGWBB, a compact model for a countertop or under a sink, lists 52 dBA for $499, and our countertop dishwasher guide compares it with other small machines.
What changes noise between GE models
GE does publish the parts behind each figure, in the same "Economical / Quiet" section of the specs, and they line up with the numbers. The 39 to 45 dBA models all list door insulation and mastic, a "Full-wrap Blanket" plus "Bitumen" outer wrap, a "Variable Speed" motor, a "Quiet Water Valve", a "Sealed Toe Kick" and "Tub Collar Trim". The 47 and 48 dBA models drop the full-wrap blanket and keep the bitumen. The ADA and 18 inch models use a "U-Blanket" and a "Single Speed" motor.
The tub follows the same pattern. Every current full size 24 inch built-in GE Appliances model at 48 dBA or below has a stainless tub; the "Hybrid Stainless Steel Interior" models list 50 to 52 dBA, and the gray plastic tub models 50 to 60. We would not credit any one part with a given number of decibels, since GE does not, but a buyer who wants a quiet GE should look for a stainless tub and the full-wrap blanket.
Normal sounds and the Mute option
GE's owner's manual for its built-in dishwashers lists what it calls "Normal operating sounds": "Beeping at the end of the cycle (on some models)", "Detergent cup opening", "Water entering dishwasher", "Motor stops and starts at various times during cycle", "Spray arms start and stop at various times", "Drain pump sounds during pump out" and "Drain pump starts and stops several times during each drain". It adds, "These are all normal. No action is required." The manual also warns that items blocking a spray arm "could result in noise during operation".
The beeps can be switched off. On the 24 inch models the same manual says "To turn the dishwasher control sounds ON/OFF, press the Dry Boost pad 5 times within 5 seconds." The GE Profile PDT755 and PDT795 also list a "3 Digit Display Cycle Countdown with Notification Bar on door", which helps when the machine is hard to hear.
What 39 to 60 dBA means in a kitchen
The decibel scale is logarithmic. Roughly every 10 dBA sounds twice as loud, so by GE's own figures a 39 dBA GE Profile would sound a little under half as loud as a 50 dBA plastic tub GE, and the 60 dBA GDF450 about twice as loud again. Our decibel chart puts those numbers next to everyday sounds. Small gaps matter too: the six dBA between a 45 dBA GDT670 and a 39 dBA PDT795 is easy to notice in an open plan room.
Models GE no longer makes
Some GE pages still carry a figure under a notice that reads "This model is no longer being manufactured", and GE does not sell them online. They include the GE Profile PDP795SYVFS (39 dBA), PDT720SYZFS (43) and PDT705SYWFS (45), and the GE GDF670SYVFS (45), GDT585HYYFS (50), GDT535PYVFS (55) and GDF460 and GDF465 models (58 and 60). We leave them out of the lists above; if you find one in stock at a retailer, its figure is still GE's own.
Price on the day we checked
GE's own prices on October 4, 2026, ran from $399 for a 55 dBA GDT535 to $1,439 for the black stainless PDT795, and most models were marked down from list. Under $800, the GE stainless tub models at 45 to 48 dBA are where the quiet money goes; our under $800 guide compares them with other brands at that price. Check the exact model number and the price on the day you buy.
We did not measure any of these dishwashers. Every figure is GE Appliances' own, quoted as published on geappliances.com product pages and on GE and Café quick specs, and GE does not say which cycle or test standard its figures describe.
