On low, the speed most Senville tables list last, the 115V LETO SENL-09CD is the quietest 9,000 BTU wall unit at 22.0 dB, the LETO SENL-12CD/220 leads at 12,000 BTU with 22.5, and the LETO SENL-18CD at 18,000 with 24. Those figures come from senville.com, where Senville sells its ductless systems direct: the product page of nearly every single-zone system carries a spec table with an indoor noise figure for each fan speed and one outdoor figure. We found no separate spec sheets or submittals on its site, and the service manuals it links for its wall units print no sound figures at all, so those tables are the only source. They can be ranked within themselves, as long as size, unit type and fan speed are kept together.
Below is every current system on Senville's US store with a published figure: the LETO, AURA and ELITE wall units, the AURA floor, cassette and ducted units, and the multi-zone outdoor units, grouped so that only like is compared with like. To see how Senville sits against other makers, see our quietest mini-splits guide; we do not rank other brands here.
Our picks are listed above, with full specifications for each.
How Senville rates noise
Senville's spec tables have an indoor row, usually "Indoor Noise Level (Turbo/H/M/L) dB", and an outdoor row, "Outdoor Noise Level dB", with one figure. Senville writes plain dB. It does not say whether its figures are A-weighted, and it gives no mode, distance or standard for any of them. So we treat every figure as mode not stated and rank Senville's figures only against each other. For why that matters when you line up brands, see comparing decibel ratings.
Most tables name four speeds and print four figures, and those are the labels we rank on. Three kinds of table break the pattern:
- Five figures under a four-speed header. The 115V LETO SENL-12CD lists "45.0 / 40.5 / 32.5 / 25.0 / 17.5" and the ELITE SENE-24EL "56 / 47 / 41 / 33 / 30" under "(Turbo/H/M/L)". Their airflow rows print four figures. We cannot tell which speed each noise figure belongs to, so we list both apart.
- A fifth speed, named. The AURA SENA-15HF table reads "Indoor Noise Level (Turbo/H/M/L/Si) dB", the only one with a Si figure.
- Three speeds. The 115V LETO SENL-09CD prints "(H/M/L)" with three figures and no Turbo, and three of the four ducted units print H, M and L headers, one of them over four figures.
Each page also has an overview box that reads "As low as" a figure, captioned "Low indoor setting". It is the lowest figure in that page's table, whatever the speed: on the AURA 15k it is the 18 dB the table labels Si. So the caption does not tell you which speed a figure belongs to.
Senville's remote manuals do describe the speeds. The CR322, the LETO remote, and the CR333, the AURA remote, show the fan speed as "Silence" at 1%, "LOW" at 21% to 40% and "HIGH" at 81% to 100%, with Turbo on a button of its own. Both say that holding the Fan button "for more than 2 seconds" turns Silence on or off, and that "Due to low frequency operation of compressor, it may result in insufficient cooling and heating capacity." The R454B LETO service manual says that with Silence on, "the indoor unit will run at faint breeze(1% fan speed), which reduces noise to the lowest possible level." Only the AURA 15k table prints a figure for it.
Which series are current
Senville's US store lists three ductless series, each with its own model prefix:
- LETO (SENL-): single-zone wall units from 9,000 to 36,000 BTU, the 9k and 12k in 115V and 230V versions. Senville's help center says the LETO is "Single-zone only" and heats down to "About 5°F (-15°C)".
- AURA (SENA-): wall units from 6,000 to 33,000 BTU, floor-mounted (IF), four-way ceiling cassette (IC), one-way cassette (1WC) and concealed duct (ID) units, and the multi-zone outdoor units. The help center gives "About -22°F (-30°C)"; the AURA 15k page says -25 °C (-13 °F).
- ELITE (SENE-): wall units at 9,000, 12,000, 18,000 and 24,000 BTU, which Senville lists under "Hyper Efficiency", rated SEER2 24.0 to 33.3 and to heat down to -30 °C (-22 °F).
SENA is the AURA model prefix, not a separate series, and we found no Olivia series on senville.com. Senville's warranty article lists earlier AURA (IZ, OZ, MOZ) and LETO (IX, OX) generations with shorter warranties; the current pages describe R454B systems. The SENDC central systems are ducted, so we leave them out, as we do the one-way cassettes, whose pages print no noise figures. Several systems were out of stock on October 10, 2026, among them the 230V LETO 9k and 12k and the LETO 18k; we rank them on their published figures and say so where it matters.
Every 9,000 BTU wall unit, quietest first
The AURA, ELITE and 230V LETO are rated 9,000 Btu/h in cooling. Senville sells the 115V LETO SENL-09CD as a 9,000 BTU system but prints only its cooling range, 2,650 to 10,300 BTU, and its table names H, M and L only. Figures are in dB, mode not stated.
- L: LETO 115V (SENL-09CD) 22.0; AURA (SENA-09HF), ELITE (SENE-09EL) and LETO 230V (SENL-09CD/220) 23.
- M: AURA and LETO 115V 31; LETO 230V 31.5; ELITE 33.
- H: LETO 230V 35.5; LETO 115V 36.5; AURA 37; ELITE 41.5.
- Turbo: LETO 230V 40.5; ELITE 41.5; AURA 45. The 115V LETO prints no Turbo figure.
The whole spread on L is one dB, so at this size the heating range, the outdoor figure and the price matter more than the series. For a bedroom, see our bedroom mini-split guide.
Every 12,000 BTU wall unit, quietest first
All are rated 12,000 Btu/h in cooling. The 115V LETO SENL-12CD is listed apart, for the reason above.
- L: LETO 230V (SENL-12CD/220) 22.5; ELITE (SENE-12EL) 23; AURA (SENA-12HF) 24.
- M: LETO 230V 32.0; ELITE 33; AURA 34.
- H: LETO 230V 38.0; AURA 40; ELITE 41.5.
- Turbo: ELITE 41.5; LETO 230V 44.0; AURA 47.
The 230V LETO was out of stock on October 10. The 115V LETO, which was in stock at $799.99, lists "45.0 / 40.5 / 32.5 / 25.0 / 17.5" under the four-speed header, and its overview calls the 17.5 the "Low indoor setting". Because its table does not say which speed each figure belongs to, we leave it out of the ranking; its outdoor unit lists 54.0 dB, the same as the 230V version.
18,000 and 24,000 BTU wall units
18,000 BTU, all rated 18,000 Btu/h in cooling, Turbo / H / M / L: LETO (SENL-18CD) "50.5 / 45 / 36 / 24"; AURA (SENA-18HF) "49 / 43.5 / 38.5 / 27"; ELITE (SENE-18EL) "54.5 / 43.5 / 32.7 / 27". The LETO is lowest on L, by 3 dB; the ELITE on M; the AURA on Turbo; the AURA and ELITE tie on H. The LETO was out of stock on October 10.
24,000 BTU, both rated 24,000 Btu/h: AURA (SENA-24HF) "54.5 / 43.5 / 38.5 / 27"; LETO (SENL-24CD) "54.0 / 45.0 / 41.5 / 27.0". They tie on L; the AURA is lower on M and H, and the LETO on Turbo, by 0.5. The ELITE SENE-24EL prints five figures under the four-speed header, "56 / 47 / 41 / 33 / 30", so it sits apart.
For a living room, see our living room mini-split guide.
Smaller and larger wall units
These are the only Senville wall units at their rated capacity, so there is nothing to rank them against.
- 6,000 BTU: AURA SENA-06HF "44.0 / 36.5 / 32.5 / 22.0", Turbo / H / M / L.
- 15,000 BTU: AURA SENA-15HF "58.5 / 36.5 / 32.5 / 21.0 / 18.0", Turbo / H / M / L / Si. We quote its 58.5 on Turbo as printed.
- 30,000 BTU: LETO SENL-30CD "57.0 / 51 / 44.5 / 34".
- 33,000 BTU: AURA SENA-33HF "53 / 45 / 38 / 30".
- 36,000 BTU: LETO SENL-36CD "56.5 / 50.5 / 44.5 / 34".
Floor, cassette and ducted units
These are ranked only within their own type, and within a type only where the rated capacity matches, which it never does here, so we list them.
Floor mounted (AURA, IF), Turbo / H / M / L: SENA-12HF-IF (12,000 Btu/h) "44 / 40.5 / 37.0 / 26.5"; SENA-18HF-IF (17,000) "45 / 42.5 / 39.5 / 30.5"; SENA-24HF-IF (22,000) "51.5 / 49.0 / 45 / 34".
Four-way ceiling cassette (AURA, IC), Turbo / H / M / L: SENA-09HF-IC (9,000 Btu/h) "42.5 / 40.0 / 37.5 / 26.0"; SENA-12HF-IC (12,000) "46 / 43.5 / 40.5 / 27.5"; SENA-18HF-IC (16,000) "48 / 44.5 / 41.0 / 27.5"; SENA-24HF-IC (23,400) "48.5 / 45.0 / 42.5 / 33.5". Only the 9,000 BTU cassette was in stock on October 10. The four-way cassette service manual says its sound charts were "measured at 1.4m/4.59ft away from the noisiest location of the unit" and that the "Data is valid at free field condition"; the product pages do not say the table figures were taken the same way.
Concealed duct (AURA, ID): the header changes from size to size. SENA-09HF-ID (9,000 Btu/h) "32.5 / 31 / 29.5" under "(/H/M/L)"; SENA-12HF-ID (12,000) "36 / 34.5 / 32.5" under "(H/M/L)"; SENA-18HF-ID (17,000) "40 / 39 / 38 / 32" under "(Turbo/H/M/L)"; SENA-24HF-ID (24,000) four figures, "40.0 / 37.0 / 35 / 29.5", under "(H/M/L)". The duct service manual says its sound was "measured at 1.5m/4.92ft away from the center of the unit". What reaches the room from a ducted unit also depends on the ductwork, so we keep these apart from the ductless heads.
One-way cassette (AURA, 1WC): the pages for the 6,000 to 18,000 BTU one-way cassettes print no noise figures.
Every single-zone outdoor unit, quietest first
These are the figures your neighbors hear. Compare them only with each other, within a size. Wall systems first, in dB:
- 9,000 BTU: LETO 115V 55; AURA 56; ELITE 57. The 230V LETO page prints no outdoor figure.
- 12,000 BTU: LETO 115V and 230V 54.0; AURA and ELITE 57.
- 18,000 BTU: LETO 56; ELITE 57; AURA 59.
- 24,000 BTU: LETO 59.5; AURA 61.5; ELITE 62.0.
- Alone at their size: AURA 6k 53, AURA 15k 57, LETO 30k 60.5, AURA 33k 63, LETO 36k 61.4.
By type and size, not ranked against the wall systems: floor units 55.5 (12,000 Btu/h), 58 (17,000) and 61.5 (22,000); four-way cassettes 55 (9,000), 57 (12,000), 57.5 (16,000) and 61.5 (23,400); ducted units 56 (9,000 and 12,000), 59 (17,000) and 61.5 (24,000).
The quietest head indoors is not always the quietest outside: the ELITE 12k leads on Turbo but lists 57 outdoors, three above the LETO 12k.
Multi-zone outdoor units
Senville prints one outdoor figure for each multi-zone system and none for the multi-zone heads. The SENA-18HF-MOA outdoor unit behind the 18,000 BTU dual and tri-zone systems lists 61.5 dB; the 28,000 BTU dual, tri and quad-zone systems list 61; and the 36,000 and 48,000 BTU systems, from two to six zones, list 65. Their capacities differ, so we do not rank them. The wall, cassette, floor and ceiling, and ducted heads Senville sells for these systems print no noise figure on their pages, so a multi-zone buyer cannot look up the indoor figure for any head.
Where Senville's own pages disagree
We rank on the spec tables. A few things in them do not add up:
- Five figures, four speeds. The 115V LETO 12k and the ELITE 24k, above.
- One caption for every lowest figure. "Low indoor setting" sits under the AURA 15k's 18 dB, which its own table labels Si.
- The same figures twice. The ELITE 9k and 12k print the same indoor figures, "41.5 / 41.5 / 33 / 23", the same airflow at every speed and the same 57 dB outdoors. Both print 41.5 for Turbo and H, though their airflow rows give 559.2 and 423.8 CFM for those speeds.
- A Turbo figure out of line. The AURA 15k prints 58.5 dB on Turbo against 36.5 on H, a gap of 22 dB; no other Senville wall-unit table shows a gap of more than 11.
- Airflow that does not move. The 18,000 and 24,000 BTU floor units print the same airflow at every speed, "576.8 / 547.4 / 485.6 / 420.8" CFM, but different noise figures.
- Headers that change. The ducted units, above.
- A missing figure. The 230V LETO 9k page has no outdoor noise row.
- One outdoor unit, two ratings. The SENA-18HF-MOA is rated 19,000 Btu/h in cooling on the dual-zone page and 18,000 on the tri-zone page, with the same 61.5 dB on both.
Why one Senville is louder than another
Size, above all. On L, the LETO goes from 22.0 dB at 9,000 BTU (115V) to 24 at 18,000 and 34 at 30,000 and 36,000; the AURA wall units from 22.0 at 6,000 BTU to 27 at 18,000 and 24,000 and 30 at 33,000. Outdoors the AURA goes from 53 at 6,000 BTU to 63 at 33,000. If a smaller head will do the room, it will be quieter.
Series, less than price suggests. The LETO, Senville's cheapest line, lists the same or less than the AURA on L at every size both come in, and less outdoors. The ELITE, its dearest, leads outright only on Turbo at 12,000 BTU and on M at 18,000.
Voltage, on the LETO. At 9,000 BTU the 115V LETO lists less than the 230V one on L, 22.0 against 23, and on M, 31 against 31.5, but more on H, 36.5 against 35.5. At 12,000 BTU only the 230V version has a table we can rank.
Heating. Senville prints no heating-mode figure, and its remote manuals say the Silence setting behind the lowest figure "may result in insufficient cooling and heating capacity." For cold winters, see our cold-climate mini-split guide.
Sleep, Silence and the sounds Senville calls normal
Sleep. The LETO owner's manual says that in COOL mode sleep "will increase the temperature by 1°C (2°F) after 1 hour, and will increase an additional 1°C (2°F) after another hour", and that "The sleep feature will stop after 8 hours". The R454B LETO service manual adds that after 2 hours "the indoor fan is fixed at low speed." Senville prints no figure for that speed.
Normal sounds. The LETO owner's manual lists a "Low hissing sound during operation", "caused by refrigerant gas flowing through both indoor and outdoor units", a squeak "after running the unit in HEAT mode due to expansion and contraction of the unit's plastic parts", and, for the outdoor unit, "The unit will make different sounds based on its current operating mode." Its Active Clean function, which freezes and then thaws frost on the heat exchanger, makes a "pi-pi" sound, and after the unit is turned off, "the outdoor fan runs in reverse rotation for 70 seconds to blow off loose accumulated dust and debris." For more on these sounds, see our heat pump noise explainer.
Installation. The LETO, AURA and ELITE installation manuals say "A minimum pipe run of 9.84ft(3m) is required to minimise vibration & excessive noise", tell the installer "If allowed, install the unit with rubber gaskets to reduce vibrations and noise", and say not to install the outdoor unit "where noise from the unit will disturb others."
Marketing. Senville's Hyper Efficiency page promises "whisper-quiet operations" for the ELITE, its concealed duct page says ducted units "are known for their quiet operation", and its 48,000 BTU multi-zone outdoor unit page says the unit "operates quietly, thanks to advanced noise reduction technology". None of those claims comes with a figure beyond the tables.
How much quieter low speed really is
Every 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud, so a LETO 12k on L at 22.5 should sound about half as loud as the same head on M at 32.0, if the conditions match. Our decibel chart puts these figures next to everyday sounds, and how quiet is quiet enough gives targets by room. For other brands' figures by fan speed, see our Daikin, MRCOOL and Pioneer pages.
Price, warranty and installation
Senville sells direct and shows one price per system, with 16 ft installation kits. On October 10, 2026, no single-zone system on its store showed an MSRP or a sale price. The LETO ran from $699.99 (9,000 BTU, 115V) to $2,099.99 (36,000), the AURA wall units from $1,099.99 (6,000) to $2,199.99 (33,000), and the ELITE from $1,499.99 (9,000) to $1,999.99 (24,000). The picks above use those prices.
Senville's help center gives the current warranties: for the AURA, "5 years" on parts and "10 years" on the compressor; for the LETO, 5 and 5; for the ELITE, 10 and 10. It says registration "is required for coverage in the US and Canada" and that labor is not covered. The warranty certificate says "IN ORDER FOR YOUR WARRANTY TO BE VALID IT MUST BE COMPLETED BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL." The help center is more precise: "You can mount the indoor and outdoor units and run the lines yourself, but a licensed HVAC technician must do the pressure test, vacuum, opening of the service valves and the electrical connection. If they don't, the warranty is void." It adds that "Senville does not sell DIY "quick connect" kits."
Every figure here is Senville's own, quoted from its US product pages with the fan speed each table names. Senville states no mode, distance, weighting or standard for them, and the service manuals for its cassette, floor and ducted units warn that sound level "will vary depending on a range of factors such as the construction" of the room the unit is installed in.
We did not measure any of these units ourselves.
