Delta Breez bathroom fan sones: every BreezSignature, BreezElite, BreezSlim and BreezSmart rating

Delta Breez bathroom fan sones: every BreezSignature, BreezElite, BreezSlim and BreezSmart rating

By Stanley Alu

The short answer

  • Delta Electronics publishes HVI-certified sones for 103 Delta Breez bathroom fans, and all but the eight BreezRadiance heater fans and the retail 130HS also carry a sone figure at the tougher 0.25-inch test pressure.
  • On a 6-inch duct the BreezSignature SIG80-110 and its lighted twin, the SIG80-110LED, are the quietest Delta fans at 110 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch and 0.8 sone at 0.25 inch, still moving the full 110 CFM.
  • On a 4-inch duct the SIG110 is under 0.3 sone at 110 CFM and 0.6 sone at 95 CFM at 0.25 inch, and the SIG80D is 0.5 sone at 79 CFM.
  • For a larger bathroom the BreezSmart SMT130 is 1.0 sone at 124 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • The 3-3/8-inch BreezSlim SLM50-100 fits a 2x4 wall at 1.0 sone at 80 CFM, and the heater fans are all 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch.

Our Picks

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan, 80/110 CFM

#1 · Quietest Delta on a 6-inch duct

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan, 80/110 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)0.8 sone at 110 CFM, 6-in. duct

The plain two-speed BreezSignature, and the table every 80/110 Signature shares. On its standard 6-inch duct Delta rates it under 0.3 sone at 80 and 110 CFM at 0.1 inch, and 0.5 sone at 80 CFM and 0.8 at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch, still delivering the full 110 CFM. No other current Delta fan on a 6-inch duct is rated lower at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch: the ELT80-110 family is 1.0 sone at 89 or 90 CFM, and the SIG80-110ELED 1.0 at 109. HVI's directory lists the same figures. On the supplied 4-inch reducer the same fan is 1.0 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch and 2.0 at 0.25, so the duct matters more than the model. One catch: the submittal's summary box prints 0.6 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch, while its own table, the product page and HVI say 0.8.

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan with LED Light, 80/110 CFM

#2 · Quietest Delta with a light

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan with LED Light, 80/110 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)0.8 sone at 110 CFM, 6-in. duct

The SIG80-110 with a white grille, a 13-watt dimmable LED and a 2-watt night light, and the same 6-inch table: under 0.3 sone at 80 and 110 CFM at 0.1 inch, 0.5 sone at 80 CFM and 0.8 at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch. That 0.8 is the lowest 0.25-inch figure at 110 CFM for any Delta fan with a light on a 6-inch duct, shared with the dual-speed SIG80-110DLED and humidity-sensing SIG80-110HLED. On a 4-inch duct it is 1.0 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch and 2.0 sones at 106 CFM at 0.25. Delta quotes "Main light output: 950 Lumens; 3000K; 90 CRI". Our category guide names it the best exhaust fan with a light; this page shows where it sits within Delta.

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan, 110 CFM

#3 · Quietest Delta at 110 CFM on a 4-inch duct

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan, 110 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)0.6 sone at 95 CFM, 4-in. duct

A single-speed BreezSignature built for a 4-inch duct. Its submittal reads "110 CFM/<0.3 Sones @ 0.1 SP" and "95 CFM/0.6 Sones @ 0.25 SP", and HVI lists the same. No other Delta fan with a 110 CFM setting on a 4-inch duct is rated that low at either pressure: the 110LED-ADJ is 0.4 and 0.8 sone, the coming-soon ELT50-110 0.5 and 1.0, and the 4-inch row of the SIG80-110 1.0 and 2.0. The trade is airflow. At 0.25 inch the SIG110 delivers 95 CFM, where the ELT50-110 holds 110 CFM at 1.0 sone, so on a long or twisty run the Elite may move more air for its extra noise.

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan with Dual Speed, 80 CFM

#4 · Quietest Delta at 80 CFM on a 4-inch duct

Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan with Dual Speed, 80 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)0.5 sone at 79 CFM, 4-in. duct

The SIG80D runs all day at a low speed you preset to "0, 30, 50, or 60 CFM" and jumps to 80 CFM on a switch. It is under 0.3 sone at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch, and its 0.5 sone at 79 CFM at 0.25 inch is the lowest 4-inch figure Delta prints at an 80 CFM setting, tied with the single-speed SIG80. Its low speeds are under 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch, and under 0.3, under 0.3 and 0.3 sone at 31, 50 and 61 CFM at 0.25 inch. On a 4-inch duct no other Delta continuous-ventilation fan is rated that low at 50 and 60 CFM at 0.25 inch: the SIG80-110D is 0.5 and 0.8, and the ELT50-110D 0.4 at 50 CFM. HVI lists the same table.

Delta BreezSmart Bathroom Fan, 130 CFM

#5 · Quietest Delta at 130 CFM

Delta BreezSmart Bathroom Fan, 130 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)1.0 sone at 124 CFM, 6-in. duct

The BreezSmart is Delta's line for bigger bathrooms, all on 6-inch ducts. The single-speed SMT130 is rated "130 CFM/<0.3 Sones @ 0.1 SP" and "124 CFM/1.0 Sone @ 0.25 SP" on its submittal, and HVI agrees. The humidity-sensing SMT130H and motion-sensing SMT130M share those figures and add low speeds that are also 1.0 sone at 0.25 inch. Above 130 CFM, the 150 CFM BreezSmart fans are under 0.3 to 0.6 sone at 0.1 inch but 1.3 sones at 0.25, and the SMT150-200 is 1.5 sones at 200 CFM there.

Delta BreezSlim Low-Profile Bathroom Fan, 50/80/100 CFM

#6 · Quietest Delta for a 2x4 wall or ceiling

Delta BreezSlim Low-Profile Bathroom Fan, 50/80/100 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)1.4 sones at 100 CFM, 4-in. oval duct

Delta's page says the newest BreezSlim has a "Low profile housing with a 3-3/8“ depth fits in a 2”x4” wall", on a 4-inch oval duct. Its table is under 0.3 sone at 50 CFM, 0.4 at 80 and 0.9 at 100 at 0.1 inch, and 0.7, 1.0 and 1.4 sones at 0.25 inch with no loss of airflow. That is the lowest 0.25-inch table of any BreezSlim at 50 CFM, and tied lowest at 80 CFM with the G3-C fans, which reach 110 CFM at 1.5 sones. The 3-inch BreezSlim fans are 1.0 sone at 50 CFM or 2.0 at 70 CFM at 0.1 inch. The SLM50-100LED, SLM50-100H and SLM50-100D share the table.

Delta BreezRadiance Bathroom Fan with LED Light and Heater, 80 CFM

#7 · Best Delta with a heater

Delta BreezRadiance Bathroom Fan with LED Light and Heater, 80 CFM

Delta Breez

Noise (0.25 in.)No sone figure published

All eight current BreezRadiance heater fans, contractor and retail, are rated 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch, and none publishes a sone figure at 0.25 inch, where five of the pages show 54 CFM and "N/A". So there is no quietest heater fan in Delta's range, only a choice of grille and light. The RAD80LED is the one with a dimmable 13-watt LED, "Main light output: 850 Lumens; 3000K; 90 CRI", and a 1300 W heating element. HVI lists it at 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch, nearly twice the 0.8 sone of a GBR80 at the same 80 CFM, pressure and 4-inch duct.

Buying Guide

Search for Delta Breez bathroom fan sones and the number on almost every box is the same: "less than 0.3 sones". It is a real HVI-certified rating, but it is the figure at the easiest test condition, 0.1 inch of static pressure, and Delta prints it on fans that are 0.5 sone and fans that are 2.0 sones once the duct pushes back. On October 4, 2026, Delta Electronics' US site listed 103 Delta Breez bathroom fans with published sones, eight of them the BreezElite ELT50-110 family it marks as coming soon, across the BreezSignature, BreezElite, BreezSlim, BreezIntegrity, BreezGreenBuilder, BreezRadiance, BreezRecessed, BreezSmart and BreezProfessional series.

This page lists all 103, with each figure quoted at the CFM, pressure and duct size Delta states, ranked quietest first within each series, duct and airflow band. It explains how to read a Delta table, why the duct matters more than the series, and where Delta's documents disagree with themselves. We do not rank other brands here. For how Delta sits beside Panasonic and Broan-NuTone, see our quietest bathroom exhaust fans guide.

Our picks are listed above, with full specifications for each.

How to read a Delta sone table

Every current Delta product page carries a table with three rows that matter: "Static Pressure (inches w.g.)", "Air Flow (CFM)" and "Sones", usually in pairs of columns at 0.1 and 0.25. Multi-speed fans repeat the pair for each setting, and the 80/110 BreezSignature and ELT80-110 BreezElite fans print one table for a 6-inch duct and a second for a 4-inch duct. The downloadable submittal repeats the table and adds a typical specification sentence, such as the ELT50-110's "airflow rating of 110 CFM and loudness rating of 0.5 Sones at 0.1 static pressure as certified by the Home Ventilating Institute (HVI)".

The 0.1-inch column is HVI's standard point, a short and easy duct. A real attic run with elbows and a roof cap sits nearer 0.25 inch, and that is where Delta's fans spread out. Most Delta fans use what the submittals call "self-compensating motor speed for intended airflow when static pressure is encountered", so many hold their full CFM at 0.25 inch and pay for it in noise instead. Others, mostly the older single-speed models, lose airflow there. Every quote below gives the CFM Delta lists at that pressure, so you can see which is happening.

We rank on the 0.25-inch figure where both fans publish one, and only between fans on the same duct size at a similar setting. A 4-inch figure is never ranked against a 6-inch one, and a 0.1-inch figure is never ranked against a 0.25-inch one.

Sones are not decibels. Two sones sounds about twice as loud as one, and there is no reliable way to turn a sone rating into dB, so we do not try. Our explainer on sones vs decibels covers the units.

BreezSignature, quietest first

The BreezSignature is Delta's premium line, with a brushless DC motor Delta says is "engineered to run continuously for a minimum 70,000 hours". The 80/110 models ship with a 6-inch duct adapter and a 6-inch to 4-inch reducer; the single-speed SIG80 and SIG110 and the SIG80D are built for a 4-inch duct.

On a 6-inch duct, at 0.25 inch:

  • SIG80-110 (fan only) and SIG80-110LED (dimmable LED and night light), 80/110 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 80 and 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.5 sone at 80 CFM and 0.8 at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SIG80-110D (dual speed), SIG80-110H (humidity), SIG80-110MH (motion and humidity), SIG80-110DLED and SIG80-110HLED (with light): the same full-speed figures, plus a continuous low speed at 30, 50 or 60 CFM that is under 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch, and under 0.3, under 0.3 and 0.3 sone at 0.25 inch.
  • SIG80-110ELED (edge-lit LED with adjustable color temperature): under 0.3 sone at 80 CFM and 0.5 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 0.8 sone at 80 CFM and 1.0 at 109 CFM at 0.25 inch.

On the 4-inch reducer, the same fans are much louder at the top setting:

  • SIG80-110, SIG80-110D, SIG80-110H and SIG80-110MH: under 0.3 sone at 80 CFM and 1.0 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 1.2 sones at 80 CFM and 2.0 at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch. On the D, H and MH the low speeds are under 0.3 sone at 30 CFM, 0.5 at 50 CFM and 0.8 at 57 to 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SIG80-110LED, SIG80-110DLED and SIG80-110HLED: the same, except 2.0 sones at 106 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SIG80-110ELED: 0.3 sone at 80 CFM and 1.0 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 1.1 sones at 79 CFM and 1.4 at 99 CFM at 0.25 inch.

Built for a 4-inch duct:

  • SIG80D, 80 CFM with a 30, 50 or 60 CFM low speed: under 0.3 sone at every setting at 0.1 inch; 0.5 sone at 79 CFM at 0.25 inch, with the low speeds at or under 0.3 sone.
  • SIG80, 80 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.5 sone at 79 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SIG110, 110 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.6 sone at 95 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • VFB25ADBT, 110 CFM with a Bluetooth stereo speaker: 1.0 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 81 CFM at 0.25 inch.

Delta also lists four retail BreezSignature models on 4-inch ducts, with figures of their own:

  • 110LED-ADJ, 110 CFM with an adjustable color LED: 0.4 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.8 sone at 94 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 80HS, 80 CFM with a humidity sensor: under 0.3 sone at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.8 sone at 56 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 110F, 110 CFM: 1.0 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 81 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 130HS, 130 CFM with a humidity sensor: 2.0 sones at 130 CFM at 0.1 inch; 105 CFM at 0.25 inch, where the table says "N/A" for sones.

The retail 80HS shows why the model number matters. Its box can truthfully say under 0.3 sone, like the SIG80, but at 0.25 inch it moves 56 CFM at 0.8 sone where the SIG80 moves 79 CFM at 0.5.

BreezElite, quietest first

The BreezElite is Delta's mid-priced DC line, sold in two generations. The newer ELT50-110 models, which Delta's pages list as coming soon, are built for a 4-inch duct, and their sheets say the grille has a "Patented noise reduction design". The ELT80-110 models ship for a 6-inch duct with a 4-inch reducer and, Delta says, "installer-friendly pocket mounting brackets".

ELT50-110 series, 4-inch duct, airflow held at 0.25 inch:

  • ELT50-110, ELT50-110D (dual speed), ELT50-110H (humidity) and ELT50-110MH (motion and humidity): under 0.3 sone at 50 and 80 CFM and 0.5 at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.4 sone at 50 CFM, 0.7 at 80 and 1.0 at 110 at 0.25 inch. The D, H and MH add a 30 CFM low speed at under 0.3 sone at both pressures.
  • ELT50-110LED, ELT50-110DLED, ELT50-110HLED and ELT50-110MHLED (with a dimmable LED): under 0.3 sone at 50 and 80 CFM and 0.5 at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch; 0.5 sone at 50 CFM, 0.7 at 80 and 1.1 at 110 at 0.25 inch. Their 30 CFM low speed is 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch and 0.4 at 0.25.

ELT80-110 series on a 6-inch duct:

  • ELT80-110, ELT80-110D, ELT80-110H and ELT80-110MH: 0.5 sone at 80 CFM and 0.7 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 0.9 sone at 59 CFM and 1.0 at 90 CFM at 0.25 inch. The 50 CFM low speed on the D, H and MH is under 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch and 0.8 sone at 32 CFM at 0.25.
  • ELT80-110LED, ELT80-110DLED, ELT80-110HLED and ELT80-110MHLED: the same full-speed figures, with 1.0 sone at 89 CFM at 0.25 inch. The DLED, HLED and MHLED have a 50 CFM low speed at 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch and 0.8 sone at 35 CFM at 0.25.

ELT80-110 series on a 4-inch duct:

  • ELT80-110, ELT80-110D, ELT80-110H and ELT80-110MH: 0.8 sone at 80 CFM and 1.2 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 63 CFM and 2.0 at 92 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • The four LED models drop to 70 and 100 CFM on a 4-inch duct: 0.7 sone at 70 CFM and 1.0 at 100 at 0.1 inch; 1.2 sones at 52 CFM and 1.5 at 82 CFM at 0.25 inch.

So the two Elite generations behave differently under load. The ELT50-110 keeps 110 CFM at 0.25 inch on a 4-inch duct; the ELT80-110 falls to about 90 CFM even on a 6-inch duct.

BreezSlim, quietest first

Delta says all BreezSlim fans "fit in a 4” wall", and lists them as UL listed for both ceiling and wall mounting. They come on three duct types.

4-inch oval duct, G4 series (3-3/8 inches deep), airflow held at 0.25 inch:

  • SLM50-100, SLM50-100LED, SLM50-100H (humidity) and SLM50-100D (dual speed): under 0.3 sone at 50 CFM, 0.4 at 80 and 0.9 at 100 at 0.1 inch; 0.7, 1.0 and 1.4 sones at 0.25 inch. The H and D add a 30 CFM setting, under 0.3 sone at 0.1 inch and 0.6 at 0.25.

4-inch oval duct, G3 and G3-C series:

  • SLM50-110-C, SLM80-110D-C and SLM80-110H-C: under 0.3 sone at 50 CFM, 0.4 at 80 and 1.2 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 0.8, 1.0 and 1.5 sones at 0.25 inch, at full airflow. On the D-C and H-C, 50 CFM is the low speed.
  • SLM50-110LED-C, SLM80-110DLED-C and SLM80-110DLED (with light): under 0.3 sone at 50 CFM, 0.4 at 80 and 1.3 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 0.8 sone at 47 CFM, 1.1 at 80 and 1.5 at 106 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SLM80-110LED, 80/110 CFM with light: 0.4 sone at 80 CFM and 1.3 at 110 at 0.1 inch; 1.1 sones at 80 CFM and 1.5 at 106 CFM at 0.25 inch.

3-inch round duct:

  • SLM70D2, 70 CFM with a 40 CFM low speed: 0.3 sone at 40 CFM and 1.1 at 70 at 0.1 inch; 0.8 sone at 25 CFM and 1.3 at 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SLM50 and the retail 50F, 50 CFM: 1.0 sone at 50 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.2 sones at 36 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SLM70, SLM70H (humidity), SLM70ELED (edge-lit LED) and the retail VFB70F (also sold as the 70F), 70HS and 70F-ELED: 2.0 sones at 70 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 53 or 54 CFM at 0.25 inch.

The 70 CFM fans are one of the few places where Delta's 0.25-inch figure is lower than its 0.1-inch one; the fan is moving less air there. If you are replacing a fan in a powder room or a shallow ceiling, our guide to the quietest bathroom fans for small bathrooms compares these slim fans with other makers' low-profile models.

BreezIntegrity, quietest first

The BreezIntegrity is Delta's builder line, all on 4-inch ducts and all with single-speed fans except the humidity model.

  • ITG50, 50 CFM: 0.7 sone at 50 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 37 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG70BT and the retail 70BT, 70 CFM with a Bluetooth speaker: 1.0 sone at 70 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 59 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG80, 80 CFM: 1.3 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.4 sones at 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG80LED, 80 CFM with light: 1.3 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG80H, 50/80 CFM with humidity sensor: 0.7 sone at 50 CFM and 1.5 at 80 at 0.1 inch; 1.0 sone at 36 CFM and 1.5 at 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG80RLED-ADJ and the retail 80RLED-ADJ, 80RLED-ADJ-BN and 80RLED-ADJ-MB (round edge-lit panel): 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 56 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 80F-LED (retail) and VFB080B4A1-LVDC (48 V low-voltage motor), 80 CFM: 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 60 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • ITG100, ITG100RLED and ITG100ELED, 100 CFM: 1.5 sones at 100 CFM at 0.1 inch; 2.0 sones at 84 or 85 CFM at 0.25 inch.

None of the Integrity fans holds its airflow at 0.25 inch; every one loses 15 to 30 percent.

BreezGreenBuilder, quietest first

Also on 4-inch ducts, the GreenBuilder pairs a DC motor with a compact housing, and its page claims "Perfectly quiet operation as low as 0.3 Sones", which is the low speed of the GBR80H.

  • GBR80H, 50/80 CFM with humidity sensor: under 0.3 sone at 50 CFM and 0.8 at 80 at 0.1 inch; 1.0 sone at 35 CFM and 1.5 at 64 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • GBR80 and the retail 80F and 80F-DGL (designer grille), 80 CFM: 0.8 sone at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 64 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • GBR80LED and the retail 80LED-ADJ and 80HLED, 80 CFM with light: 0.8 sone at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 63 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • GBR100H, 60/100 CFM with humidity sensor: 0.5 sone at 60 CFM and 1.4 at 100 at 0.1 inch; 0.7 sone at 42 CFM and 1.5 at 77 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • GBR100 and the retail 100F and 100HS, 100 CFM: 1.4 sones at 100 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 77 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • GBR100LED and the retail 100LED, 100 CFM with light: 1.5 sones at 100 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 72 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 100F-DGL (retail, designer grille), 100 CFM: 1.5 sones at 100 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 77 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 80-120DS (retail, dual speed), 80/120 CFM: 0.8 sone at 80 CFM and 3.0 at 120 at 0.1 inch; 1.5 sones at 64 CFM and 2.5 at 98 CFM at 0.25 inch. It is the loudest current Delta at 0.1 inch, and HVI lists it as not ENERGY STAR certified.

BreezRadiance heater fans and BreezRecessed

Every BreezRadiance fan has a 1300 W heating element and a 4-inch duct, and every one is rated 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch: the RAD80, RAD80L (with light), RAD80LED (dimmable LED), RAD80-DGL (designer grille), RAD80ELED (edge-lit LED) and the retail 80F-HEATER, 80FL-Heater and 80LED-HEATER-ADJ. The RAD80, RAD80L and three retail pages show 54 CFM at 0.25 inch with "N/A" for sones; the other three print the 0.1-inch column only. With no difference in the figures, choose a heater fan by grille and light, not by sones.

The BreezRecessed models put the fan inside an LED can light, on a 4-inch duct:

  • REC80LED and the retail 80LED-REC, 80 CFM: 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch; 2.0 sones at 65 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 90LED-REC-ADJ (retail), 90 CFM: 2.5 sones at 90 CFM at 0.1 inch; 2.5 sones at 81 CFM at 0.25 inch.

If you want the fan as the room's main light, our guide to the quietest bathroom fans with a light covers lumens, night lights and where each fixture can be installed.

BreezSmart and BreezProfessional, the high-airflow fans

All BreezSmart fans are on 6-inch ducts and hold most of their airflow at 0.25 inch.

  • SMT130, 130 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 130 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.0 sone at 124 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SMT130H (humidity) and SMT130M (motion), 130 CFM with 50, 70 and 90 CFM low speeds: under 0.3 sone at every setting at 0.1 inch; 1.0 sone at 49, 68, 88 and 124 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SMT150D, 150 CFM with 70, 90 and 110 CFM low speeds: under 0.3 sone at every setting at 0.1 inch; 1.0 sone at 68, 88 and 109 CFM and 1.3 at 149 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • 150F (retail), 150 CFM: under 0.3 sone at 150 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 149 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SMT150-200, 150 or 200 CFM: 0.4 sone at 150 CFM and 1.0 at 200 at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 150 CFM and 1.5 at 200 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SMT150LED and the retail 150LED-ADJ, 150 CFM with light: 0.5 sone at 150 CFM at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 150 CFM at 0.25 inch.
  • SMT150-200LED, 150 or 200 CFM with light: 0.6 sone at 150 CFM and 1.0 at 200 at 0.1 inch; 1.3 sones at 150 CFM and 1.5 at 200 CFM at 0.25 inch.

The BreezProfessional Pro300 is a 300 CFM fan on a 6-inch duct for heavier applications: 2.0 sones at 300 CFM at 0.1 inch and 2.5 sones at 268 CFM at 0.25 inch.

What moves a Delta fan's sone figure

Four things, in order of size. The duct is first: the 80/110 BreezSignature goes from 0.8 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch on a 6-inch duct to 2.0 on a 4-inch one, and the ELT80-110 from 1.0 to 2.0. The setting is second: almost every Delta fan is under 0.3 sone somewhere in its table, usually at its lowest speed, and the gap between the low and high settings can be a full sone. The pressure is third: Delta's DC fans that hold their CFM at 0.25 inch get louder doing it, while the fans that let airflow fall stay closer to their 0.1-inch figure. The light or sensor is last and smallest: lighted versions are usually level with the fan-only model or a tenth of a sone higher.

Where Delta's pages disagree with its sheets

Delta's documents are mostly consistent, but not entirely. The SIG80-110, SIG80-110D, SIG80-110H and SIG80-110MH submittals print "110 CFM/0.6 Sones @ 0.25” SP" in their summary boxes, while the tables on the same sheets, the product pages and HVI all say 0.8 sone; the lighted SIG80-110LED, DLED and HLED sheets say 0.8 throughout. The SIG80-110 submittal's heading also calls it a "Fan/Dimmable LED Light/Night-Light", though it has no light. The SIG80-110H and SIG80-110MH pages list the 4-inch 60 CFM step as 60 CFM at 0.25 inch where HVI says 57, with the same 0.8 sone. The 70F page lists 50 CFM at 0.25 inch where the VFB70F page and HVI say 54. The 100LED submittal's summary box repeats 80 CFM figures from another model. The GBR100LED page title calls it "80 CFM" where its table says 100. And the SIG80-110HLED page lists both 950 and 800 lumens. We followed the tables and HVI in every case.

Discontinued and unlisted models

Delta's series pages mark the SIG80-110MHLED, GBR50, GBR100HLED, SMT150 and Pro200 as "(Discontinued)", so none is ranked here. HVI's directory also lists newer or regional model numbers that Delta's US pages do not link, including the SIG80-130LED and SIG80-130MHLED (an 80/110/130 CFM BreezSignature whose page is hidden on Delta's site and returns an error) and second-generation BreezIntegrity numbers such as the ITG50G2 and ITG80G2. Until Delta publishes pages for them, we leave them out. The BreezWall series is sold only in Mexico.

What the figures mean in your bathroom

HVI treats 1.0 sone or less as quiet. At 0.1 inch, 67 of these 103 Delta fans are rated at or under that at one or more settings. At 0.25 inch the picture narrows: on a 6-inch duct, only the 80/110 BreezSignature fans are under 1.0 sone at 110 CFM, and on a 4-inch duct only the SIG110 and 110LED-ADJ, at 95 and 94 CFM. Sones add up in a straight line, so a heater fan at 1.5 sones at 80 CFM is nearly twice as loud as a GBR80 at 0.8 sone, at the same airflow, pressure and duct. Where that line should fall for a bathroom next to a bedroom, as against a powder room, is the subject of our room-by-room guide to how quiet is quiet enough.

How we chose

We opened Delta Electronics' US listings for each Delta Breez ventilation series and read every fan page they link, 110 in all, plus the damper and grille pages, which carry no sone figure. We set aside the five fans marked discontinued and one page linked under another model's name, counted the 70F and VFB70F as one fan, then recorded the HVI table from each of the remaining 103 product pages, with airflow, sones and static pressure per duct size and setting, and downloaded the submittal sheet for each. We then checked every figure against the Home Ventilating Institute's certified products directory, data generated September 23, 2026 and downloaded October 4, 2026. We ranked only within the same duct size, airflow band and static pressure, and we did not convert any sone figure to decibels. Delta lists no prices on its pages, so no price appears here.

We did not measure any of these fans ourselves. Every figure on this page is Delta Electronics' own published, HVI-certified rating or HVI's listing of it, quoted with the airflow, static pressure and duct size it describes, and where Delta's product page and its submittal disagree, we say so and follow the table that HVI confirms.

Common questions

How many sones is a Delta Breez bathroom fan?

By Delta's own HVI-certified ratings at 0.1 inch of static pressure, between under 0.3 and 3.0 sones at full speed, depending on the model and setting. Most BreezSignature and BreezSmart fans are under 0.3 sone, the BreezElite 0.5 to 1.2, the BreezSlim 0.9 to 2.0, the BreezIntegrity and BreezGreenBuilder 0.7 to 1.5, the heater fans 1.5, and the 80-120DS 3.0 sones at 120 CFM. At the tougher 0.25-inch pressure the full-speed figures run from 0.5 sone (SIG80 and SIG80D at 79 CFM on a 4-inch duct, and the SIG80-110 at 80 CFM on a 6-inch duct) to 2.5 sones.

Which Delta Breez bathroom fan is the quietest?

It depends on the duct. On a 6-inch duct the BreezSignature SIG80-110 family, with or without a light, is under 0.3 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch and 0.8 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch. On a 4-inch duct the SIG110 is under 0.3 sone at 110 CFM and 0.6 sone at 95 CFM at 0.25 inch, and the SIG80 and SIG80D are 0.5 sone at 79 CFM at 0.25 inch.

At what static pressure does Delta rate its sones?

Delta's product pages and submittals print an HVI table with columns at 0.1 and 0.25 inch of water gauge, and the newest BreezSlim tables add airflow at 0.375 inch. The headline figure on each page, such as "Perfectly quiet operation at less than 0.3 sones", is the 0.1-inch rating, HVI's standard point for a short, easy duct. The 0.25-inch column is closer to a real attic run, and every current Delta fan except the BreezRadiance heaters and the retail 130HS publishes a sone figure there.

Does duct size change a Delta fan's sone rating?

Yes, a lot. Delta prints separate tables for 6-inch and 4-inch ducts on the 80/110 BreezSignature and ELT80-110 BreezElite fans. The SIG80-110 is 0.8 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch on a 6-inch duct and 2.0 sones on a 4-inch duct; the ELT80-110 is 1.0 and 2.0. If you can run a 6-inch duct, those fans are much quieter on it. If you cannot, choose a fan rated on 4-inch, like the SIG110, or the ELT50-110 once Delta sells it.

Is the BreezSignature quieter than the BreezElite?

On a 6-inch duct, yes, by Delta's figures: the SIG80-110 is 0.8 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch and the ELT80-110 is 1.0 sone at 90 CFM. On a 4-inch duct it depends on the model. The 4-inch ELT50-110, which Delta lists as coming soon, is 1.0 sone at the full 110 CFM at 0.25 inch, lower than the 2.0 sones of the SIG80-110 on its 4-inch reducer, but the 4-inch SIG110 is 0.6 sone at 95 CFM.

How loud are Delta Breez heater fans?

All eight current BreezRadiance models, the RAD80, RAD80L, RAD80LED, RAD80-DGL and RAD80ELED and the retail 80F-HEATER, 80FL-Heater and 80LED-HEATER-ADJ, are rated 1.5 sones at 80 CFM at 0.1 inch. Delta publishes no sone figure for them at 0.25 inch.

What is the difference between Delta's contractor and retail models?

Delta's series pages list "Retail Models" such as the 80HS, 110F, 110LED-ADJ, 80F, 100F and 150F below the contractor models, each with its own page and HVI table. Some match a contractor model exactly (the 80F and GBR80 are both 0.8 sone at 80 CFM and 1.5 at 64 CFM), but others do not: the retail 80HS is 0.8 sone at 56 CFM at 0.25 inch, against 0.5 at 79 CFM for the SIG80. Read the table for the exact model number on the box.

How do Delta's sones compare to decibels?

They do not convert. Sones scale with how loud a sound seems, so 2 sones sounds about twice as loud as 1 sone, while decibels are logarithmic. There is no simple, reliable formula between them, so we never turn Delta's sones into decibels, and Delta does not either.

Are Delta Breez sone ratings certified?

Yes. Delta's submittals give each loudness rating "as certified by the Home Ventilating Institute (HVI)", and its series page says "All Delta Breez ventilation fans are HVI-certified". We checked the current fans against HVI's certified products directory: 99 of 103 appear under their own model numbers, and every sone figure matched Delta's pages. The 70F-ELED, 100F-DGL, 80LED-REC and SMT150LED do not appear under those numbers.

What We Also Considered

These are worth knowing about, and why they didn't make the list.

  • Delta BreezElite Bathroom Fan, 50/80/110 CFM

Delta's pages list the whole ELT50-110 family as "coming soon", so it is not a pick yet. On paper it is the only Delta 4-inch fan we found that holds the full 110 CFM at 0.25 inch, at 1.0 sone, and it is under 0.3 sone at 50 and 80 CFM and 0.5 at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch.

  • Delta BreezSignature Bathroom Fan with Humidity Sensor, LED Light and Night Light, 80/110 CFM

The SIG80-110LED with a humidity sensor and a continuous low speed: the same 0.8 sone at 110 CFM at 0.25 inch on a 6-inch duct, with its 30, 50 and 60 CFM settings at or under 0.3 sone at 0.25 inch.

    See it at Amazon
  • Delta Breez 110LED-ADJ Bathroom Fan with Adjustable Color LED Light, 110 CFM

A retail BreezSignature with an adjustable color LED for a 4-inch duct: 0.4 sone at 110 CFM at 0.1 inch and 0.8 at 94 CFM at 0.25 inch, the lowest 4-inch figures Delta prints for a fan with a light at that setting.

Manufacturer pages and manuals for every product

Founder and editor

I founded QuietSpecs after running a product review blog, and I built it around the spec that is hardest to pin down. With noise, makers tend to quote the quietest setting they can find, or nothing at all. So I read the spec sheets, manuals and certification directories, quote each figure with the setting it describes, and say so plainly when a maker publishes none. I do not test products or measure decibels, and no brand pays for a place in a guide.
