How many decibels is a Midea dishwasher?
A built-in Midea lists 44, 47 or 52 dBA, and a countertop Midea lists 52 or 62. The figure sits in a "Sound Level(dBA)" or "Sound level" row on each product page, and color versions list the same number.
- 44 dBA: MDT24P6CST, STRAWash, $799. MDT24P7CST, STRAWash with Total Tumbler Clean, $899.
- 47 dBA: MDT24P3CST, 3-Stage Total Drying, $649.
- 52 dBA, 24 inch front control: MDF24P2BST $529, MDF24P2BBB and MDF24P2BWW $479. MDF24P1BST $529, MDF24P1BBB and MDF24P1BWW $479. MDF24P21CST $549, MDF24P21CBB and MDF24P21CWW $499.
- 52 dBA, 18 inch: MDF18A1AST $499, MDF18A1ABB and MDF18A1AWW $459.
- 52 dBA, 22 inch countertop: MDC22P1AWW $315, MDC22P1ABB $309.99, MDC22P2ASS $329.99.
- 62 dBA, 17 inch countertop: MDC17P0ABB $275, MDC17P2DWW $280, MDC17P4CWW $290, all on sale.
All three top control models hold 16 place settings on three racks. All the front control models, 24 and 18 inch, have two racks.
Which Midea dishwasher is the quietest?
The quietest Midea dishwashers are the MDT24P6CST and the MDT24P7CST, both at 44 dBA. Each is a 24 inch stainless top control model with STRAWash jets for reusable straws and a Bottle Wash Zone.
The MDT24P7CST, tagged "New" on its page, adds a Lid Zone, convection drying with moisture detection and a 1-Hour Wash & Dry cycle. Its spec sheet puts the figure as "As Low as 44 dB" in a feature tile and "44 dB" in the table.
For the figure alone, the MDT24P6CST is the better buy at $799, $100 under its sibling. Its spec sheet labels the feature "Quietest Performance".
What separates a 44 dBA Midea from the 47 dBA one?
STRAWash and a $150 price step separate them, and little else on paper. The 44 dBA MDT24P6CST and the 47 dBA MDT24P3CST share 16 place settings, three racks, five identically named cycles, 229 kWh a year, 88 lbs and the same dimensions.
Midea even describes their drying in matching words: each "combines Extended Dry, Auto-Open Door, and Air Dry to deliver spotless, ready-to-use dishes", under the names TruDry and 3-Stage Total Drying.
The MDT24P3CST spec sheet lists a disposer and the MDT24P6CST's adds straw holders. Neither sheet mentions insulation, a motor type or any other part that would explain a 3 dBA gap, so read the spec row, not the feature list.
Are Midea's 52 dBA front control dishwashers loud?
Midea's 52 dBA front control dishwashers sit above the band Midea itself calls quiet. Its dishwasher FAQ says "A rating in the low-to-mid 40 dBA range is generally considered quiet, while higher ratings may produce more noticeable sound during operation."
Three series share 52 dBA: the MDF24P2B with Heated Dry and a digital timer, the MDF24P1B with Extended Dry, and the MDF24P21C with an auto-open door. Each has 12 place settings, two racks and a hybrid tub, and black or white costs $50 less than stainless.
At 8 dBA above the STRAWash pair, these suit a kitchen behind a door better than an open plan room. Our guide to dishwashers under $800 compares other brands at these prices.
How loud is the Midea 18 inch dishwasher?
Midea's only 18 inch dishwasher, the MDF18A1A, lists 52 dBA, the same figure as its 24 inch front control models. The stainless, black and white versions share one spec sheet, which reads "Noise Level Decibels (dBA): 52dBA".
It holds 8 place settings in a stainless steel tub and offers six cycles, among them ECO and Delicate. The spec sheet gives 3.5 gallons per cycle and a 17.6 inch width.
The black MDF18A1ABB was $459 with Add to cart on November 4, $40 below the stainless MDF18A1AST. For other makers' slim models, see our 18 inch dishwasher guide.
How loud are Midea countertop dishwashers?
Midea's 22 inch countertop dishwashers list 52 dBA and its 17 inch ones 62 dBA. That 10 dBA gap is the widest between any two Midea groups.
The 22 inch MDC22P1A and MDC22P2ASS hold 6 place settings, about "70 pieces of tableware" in Midea's words, and connect to the kitchen faucet. The 17 inch MDC17P0ABB, MDC17P2DWW and MDC17P4CWW hold 2 place settings and carry a built-in water tank of 5 or 6 liters, so they can sit away from the sink.
Listeners tend to judge a 10 dBA rise as roughly a doubling, so the tank costs a lot of quiet. Other makers' tabletop units appear in our countertop dishwasher guide.
Which Midea dishwashers are discontinued?
Three Midea dishwashers with a figure on their pages are discontinued: the panel ready MDT24X2APR (45 dBA), the MDT24P4AST (45 dBA) and the MDT24H2AST (49 dBA). Each page read "This product is no longer available" on November 4, 2026.
With the MDT24X2APR gone, Midea sells no panel ready dishwasher in the US, and its listing showed no drawer model either. Both discontinued 45 dBA models listed a lower figure than Midea's current 47 dBA MDT24P3CST.
None of the three appears in the picks. A retailer still selling one is selling old stock, and the figure on its old Midea page is the only one we have for it.
Midea prints its decibel figure in the spec table on each product page, and again on most spec sheets. Neither names a cycle, a microphone distance or a test standard.
The row label changes from page to page: "Sound Level(dBA)", "Sound level" or "Noise Level (dBA)". The spec sheets switch units too, with "Noise Level (dB): 52" on the MDF24P2B sheet against "52dBA" on the MDF24P1B one. We read every one as A-weighted, since the product pages say dBA for the same models.
Because one label covers the range, one Midea against another is a fair reading. Across brands the match is looser, and our decibel ratings explainer shows why.
How do I silence a Midea dishwasher's beeps?
On the three top control Midea models, press and hold AUTO and NORMAL for 3 seconds. The MDT24P7CST user guide says this will "either deactivate or activate the control tones and the end of cycle tone."
The MDT24P3CST and MDT24P6CST manuals give the same two buttons under "TURNING OFF SOUNDS". The front control MDF24P2B manual lists end of cycle beeps as normal in troubleshooting.
The same manuals list "QUIET OPERATING TIPS": secure lightweight items, keep pans off the walls and spray arm, and on built-ins keep the sink drain plug closed "to prevent noise transfer through drains". Installation notes add "Do not remove the insulation blanket". More fixes are in our quieter dishwasher explainer.
