How many decibels is each SKS dishwasher?
Each SKS dishwasher lists 38, 40, 41 or 44 dBA on its product page, and 39, 40, 41 or 44 dBA on its spec sheet. All seven are 24 inch built-in models with top controls, and the ranking below uses the higher figure wherever the two documents differ.
- 39 dBA, page says 38: SKSDW2422S, Pro Stainless Steel, $2,099. SKSDW2422T, Satin Stainless Steel, $2,199.
- 40 dBA, page says 38: SKSDW2411S, Pro Stainless Steel, $1,699.
- 40 dBA on page and sheet: SKSDW2411T, Satin Stainless Steel, $1,899. SKSDW2401S, Pro Stainless Steel, $1,499.
- 41 dBA, panel ready: SKSDW2422P, $1,999.
- 44 dBA, panel ready: SKSDW2402P, $1,799.
Prices are the ones SKS showed on each product page that day. SKS pages offer "Request a Quote" and "Find a Showroom" rather than a cart, so a dealer's price may differ.
Why do some SKS pages say 38 dBA when the spec sheet says 39 or 40?
SKS does not explain the mismatch. The SKSDW2422S, SKSDW2422T and SKSDW2411S product pages list "LoDecibel™ Quiet Operation (38 dBA)", while their spec sheets list 39, 39 and 40 dBA.
The second generation sheets are stamped "PRELIMINARY" and dated "Effective 10/26", so either document could be the newer word. The SKSDW2411S case looks more like a slip on the page. Its sheet dates from May 2025, and its twin, the SKSDW2411T, shares the owner's manual and every wash, rack and drying row yet lists 40 dBA on both page and sheet.
We rank all three at the higher number and quote both. Before choosing an SKS for a 38, ask the dealer for the final spec sheet for that exact model number.
Which SKS dishwasher is the quietest?
The quietest SKS dishwashers on paper are the second generation SKSDW2422S and SKSDW2422T, at 38 dBA on their pages and 39 on their preliminary spec sheets. They differ only in finish and handle: Pro Stainless Steel for the S and Satin Stainless Steel for the T, $100 apart.
Both are FlushFit models with "QuadWash™ Pro", four spray arms counting a bottle arm, "Dynamic Heat Dry™ with Auto Open Door", 16 place settings and a 220 kWh a year energy figure. Their pages linked a spec sheet and warranty but no owner's manual on November 4.
Features, mostly, not a lower figure: the $2,099 SKSDW2422S lists only one dBA below the $1,499 SKSDW2401S on their spec sheets.
The SKSDW2401S runs a standard QuadWash System, three spray arms and a "Hybrid Condensing Drying System", with 15 place settings, ten cycles, nine options and 269 kWh a year. The $1,699 SKSDW2411S adds QuadWash Pro, Dynamic Heat Dry and a 1-Hour cycle, and drops energy use to 238 kWh.
The second generation adds FlushFit, the bottle arm, the auto open door, a 16th place setting and the lowest energy figure. Its sheet lists five cycles, against ten on the older models, and no Night Dry option. None of those changes moves the noise rating by more than a dBA.
How loud are SKS panel ready dishwashers?
SKS's two panel ready dishwashers list 41 dBA for the second generation SKSDW2422P and 44 dBA for the first generation SKSDW2402P, with page and spec sheet agreeing on each.
The $1,999 SKSDW2422P shares the SKSDW2422S hardware and gives its depth as "includes 3/4" panel", but its preliminary sheet prints no panel weight range. The $1,799 SKSDW2402P holds 14 place settings, dries by hybrid condensing and lists "5.5-24.2 lb. panel weight".
Neither ships with a panel, and SKS does not say whether one was fitted for the figure. We keep these two apart from the finished door models; other makers' integrated options are ranked in our panel ready dishwasher guide.
When we first catalogued SKS on October 6, the SKSDW2422P page read "Coming Soon". On November 4 it sat on the SKS listing with a price.
Is an SKS dishwasher quieter than an LG?
Not at the low end. LG's lowest figure, 38 dBA for the LG SIGNATURE LUDP8908SN, equals the best SKS page figure and sits one under the SKS spec sheets.
The difference is at the top. No current SKS lists more than 44 dBA, while LG's own range runs up to 52 dBA on its front control models. SKS sells no front control dishwasher.
Both brands use the LoDecibel label and the "Inverter Direct Drive™" motor row, and neither names a cycle. That makes an SKS against an LG a fairer pairing than most cross-brand comparisons, a problem our explainer on comparing decibel ratings covers in detail.
Does an SKS dishwasher have a quiet night cycle?
Only as a download. The SKSDW2411S and SKSDW2411T owner's manual lists a Night Care (P7) download cycle that "Quietly washes dishes overnight", with no figure attached.
Night Dry, listed on the SKSDW2401S and SKSDW2411 models, is a drying feature. The SKSDW2401S manual describes an option that "runs the ventilation fan periodically to help vent the steam from the tub." Every SKS spec sheet lists Delay Start, the simpler way to run a wash after the kitchen empties.
Can you silence the chimes on an SKS dishwasher?
Each SKS manual gives its own button combination, and none lets you silence the error alert.
On the SKSDW2401S, the manual says to "press and hold Dual Zone and Energy Saver simultaneously for three seconds". The SKSDW2411S and SKSDW2411T use an Option Setting Mode, entered by pressing POWER and Remote Start together, where Chime Sound and End Sound each switch on or off.
The SKSDW2402P manual says button sounds turn off "by pressing and holding Extra Dry and Delay Start for three seconds", and adds that "The end of cycle chime and safety alert sounds will still sound." No manual for the second generation models was posted yet.
Can a poor install make an SKS dishwasher louder?
Yes. The SKS manuals we read warn that "Failure to level the dishwasher may result in leakage, problems closing the door, or noise." The SKSDW2401S and SKSDW2411 manuals add, "Do not install cabinet baseboard as it may cause noise and leakage."
The SKSDW2411 manual also tells installers to fit the sound insulation sheet if the model "shipped with" one. Its FAQ says a whistle as water enters is normal, but that with high water pressure "it will be louder", and suggests turning the valve down. Our guide to making a dishwasher quieter covers the rest of the install checks.
